No experience is necessary and we include our babies in the classes with scientific but fun developmental moves, we even give them lovely gentle massages to start. The class is suitable for babies up to pre-walkers/about 9 months or when you feel you are both ready to move on. Toddler yoga is a good next step to continue the touch-connection and movement together.
The mum moves in this class are designed to help you regain your core-strength, your figure and overall fitness after birth by restoring tone to the deep muscles of the pelvis and lower back. Rather than aiming to resume a gym or exercise routine too early, with these classes you can ensure a foundation for better fitness and long term 'women's health' - while being energised from within and enjoying connecting to your baby more fully. Each step ‘closes’the body and re-knits abdominal muscles using yoga breathing, with the additional effect of inducing deeper sleep and reducing postnatal fatigue.
Babies are included with fun interactive holds, moves and rhymes that promote active bonding in age appropriate ways through the first weeks and months. Birthlight pioneered what is now known as 'Baby Yoga' with playful interaction for healthy infant development. Taking the time for yoga each week can really help mums and babies connect as well as easing babies through their
developmental milestones with happiness.

Buggies welcome - local parking and free at the ETNA Centre. Siblings welcome too during half-term etc. All Birthlight postnatal yoga practices are suitable for mothers who have had a cesarean birth and dads and grandparents are really welcome too. No experience necessary, mats provided.
